Kirov regional government resigns
KIROV. July 28 (Interfax) - The government of the Kirov region is resigning due to the dismissal of Nikita Belykh from the post of the region's governor due to loss of the president's trust and the appointment of Igor Vasilyev as acting head of the region.
"Resignation is a procedural thing. By law, the government of a region resigns if the president of the Russian federation decides to dismiss the region's governor," a source in the region's government told Interfax on Thursday.
"The new composition of the government will be formed by the elected governor of the region," he said. Before that, all government officials will be acting.
According to earlier reports, Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed Nikita Belykh from the post of governor of the Kirov region due to loss of the president's trust.
Putin also signed a decree appointing Igor Vasilyev acting governor of the Kirov region until the elected governor takes office.
