United World Wrestling admits 16 Russians to 2016 Olympics; two-time world champion Lebedev left out

MOSCOW. July 28 (Interfax) - A special commission of the United World Wrestling (UWW) has submitted a list of 16 Russian wrestlers who will take part in the 2016 Olympics in accordance with a recommendation of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board, the Russian Wrestling Federation (RWF) said in a press release.

The list does not include the two-time world champion in freestyle wrestling, Viktor Lebedev, who was to represent Russia in the weight class of under 57 kilograms.

The freestyle wrestling team looks as follows: Soslan Ramonov (under 65 kg), Aniuar Geduyev (under 74 kg), Abdulrashid Sadulayev (under 86 kg), Anzor Boltukayev (under 97 kg), Bilyal Makhov (under 125 kg).

The Russian Greco-Roman wrestling team includes: Stepan Maranyan (under 59 kg), Islam-bek Albiyev (under 66 kg), Roman Vlasov (under 75 kg), Davit Chakvetadze (under 85 kg), Islam Magomedov (under 98 kg) and Sergei Semyonov (under 130 kg).

Representing Russia in the women's team will be Milana Dadasheva (under 48 kg), Valeria Koblova (under 58 kg), Inna Trazhukova (under 63 kg), Natalya Vorobyova (under 69 kg) and Yekaterina Bukina (under 75 kg).

On July 24, the IOC decided not to ban the entire Russian team from the 2016 Olympics, but left it to the international sports federation to decide which Russian athletes should be admitted to the Olympics based on the criterion of non-involvement in doping.
