Russian lawyers ready to meet with WADA's McLaren to discuss his report - Sports Minister Mutko

MOSCOW. July 30 (Interfax) - Russian lawyers are willing to meet with Richard McLaren, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Independent Investigations Report's author, to study the facts based on which he has compiled his report, Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said.

"There is a criminal investigation being conducted by the [Russian] Investigative Committee. We are conducting our own investigation into this report, and lawyers have been hired to this end. We are studying the people's involvement or their negligence," Mutko said.

"Our independent commission has addressed McLaren, [...] our lawyers stand ready to go to meet McLaren and study the facts they possess. If it is confirmed that the people figuring in the report are responsible for violations, then they'll be called to account," Mutko said on the Match TV television channel.

"We will never agree [with the allegations] on the existence of some state-run doping program," he said.
