OSCE SMM arrives at shelling site in Yasynuvata to record damages
YASYNUVATA, Donetsk region. Aug 1 (Interfax) - Representatives of the Special Monitoring Mission of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE SMM) arrived in the city of Yasynuvata to record violations of the ceasefire regime and the consequences of shellings, an Interfax correspondent reported from the site of the events.
A representative of Yasynuvata's administration told reporters about the shelling earlier.
"A civilian was injured; another one was killed in the shelling conducted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. A total of five artillery shells were fired on a residential area; three of them landed on apartment blocks," the representative said on Monday.
He said three apartments in the blocks on which direct hits were recorded were damaged, and that several vehicles were burned out.
In addition to the residential buildings, a kindergarten in Yasynuvata was damaged.
"The windows in our pre-school facility were smashed by an explosive blast, the medical room, the music room and the rooms of the nursery group and the pre-school group were damaged," Yelena Atrepyeva, principal of Yasynuvata's kindergarten number two, told reporters.
She said that 220 children currently attend the kindergarten.
