Azeri-Iranian relationship growing fast - President Aliyev

BAKU. Aug 7 (Interfax) - Azeri President Ilham Aliyev has emphasized the successful development of the relations between Azerbaijan and Iran, according the head of state's official site.

"I am very glad that we meet each other often. In February this year I was in Iran on an official visit, and now you are our guest. This is an indicator of who fast our relations develop," Aliyev said at a one-on-one meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday.

Many issues will be discussed in Baku, the Azeri leader said, while expressing his confidence of a successful outcome of the visit.

"No doubt our relations have been developing successfully. Your visit to Tehran was very successful, the right steps ensued," Rouhani said for his part.

Hopefully, the current visit will help broaden the bilateral relationship, the Iranian president said.

"Good relations are of great importance both to the bilateral and regional formats and are a positive factor," Rouhani said.

At the meeting, the two leaders shared views on bilateral and other issues of mutual interest to the parties.
