Baku-Moscow-Tehran format source of regional security, stability - Aliyev

BAKU. Aug 8 (Interfax) - Trilateral cooperation between Baku, Moscow and Tehran is the main condition for peace and stability in the region, Azeri President Ilham Aliyev said.

"The Azerbaijan-Russia-Iran cooperation format is a source of security and stability in the region. The region faces growing threats and challenges. Under such conditions, our relations are the main condition for peace and stability," Aliyev said at a trilateral meeting between the presidents of Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia in Baku on Monday.

In the future, the three countries must strengthen their political ties, he said.

Aliyev also noted the potential for a broader trilateral economic cooperation. "We will also broaden our trade cooperation, there are good opportunities for cooperation in the energy sector," the Azeri president said.
