Stroytransgaz to prepare Amur GPP site, to open division in Svobodny
MOSCOW. Aug 10 (Interfax) - CJSC Stroytransgaz, in which billionaire Gennady Timchenko's Volga Group has a 31.5% stake, is the contractor to prepare the construction site for the Amur Gas Processing Plant, a source at the company told Interfax.
"The initial contract with the design institute OJSC NIPIGAZpererabotka stipulates preparation of the site for temporary buildings and structures, including the offices of the ordering party Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk and the main contracting organizations," the source said.
Stroytransgaz will clear the site of trees and undergrowth and perform excavation and filling work, using 72 vehicles and other equipment.
A Stroytransgaz representative told Interfax that the site clearing work had been completed and that the company was now working on the engineering preparation under a separate contract.
Stroytransgaz is also expected to create a standalone unit in the city of Svobodny, Amur region, to support the management group and company staff and equipment that will be deployed to the site.
The Amur GPP is being built to separate out valuable fractions from gas being exported to China on the Power of Siberia pipeline.
NIPIGAZ has concluded an EPCM-contract with Gazprom on construction of the gas processing plant at a cost of 0.8 trillion rubles.
The Amur GPP, to be built in the Far East Federal District in Amur region's Svobodny district, will have capacity to process up to 42 billion cubic meters a year, producing methane, ethane, propane, butane, pentane-hexane fraction and helium. The methane will be exported to China.
