Eight truce breaches recorded in Syria - Russian Defense Ministry
MOSCOW. Aug 11 (Interfax) - Eight truce violations have been committed in Syria's Damascus and Latakia Provinces in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"The cessation of hostilities regime has been observed in the majority of provinces of the Syrian Arab Republic in the past 24 hours. Eight violations have been recorded in Damascus Province [seven] and in Latakia Province [one] in the past 24 hours," the Russian center for reconciliation of the opposing sides in Syria said in a report.
Militants from Jaysh al-Islam (outlawed in Russia) fired mortars at the populated localities of Hoosh Nasri, Arbil, Harasta, Al-Nashabiyah, Qaboun, Douma and Jobar in Damascus Province, it said. For their part, militants of Ahrar al-Sham (outlawed in Russia) shelled the Shillif fortress.
"The Russian Aerospace Forces and the Air Force of Syria have not conducted strikes on opposition paramilitary units that have joined the cessation of hostilities and have informed the Russian and American centers for reconciliation of their location," the Defense Ministry said.
