Border guards at Kyiv airport detain Tajik national wanted by Interpol on suspicion of terrorism

KYIV. Aug 13 (Interfax) - Ukrainian border guards at Kyiv's Boryspil International Airport detained on Thursday a Tajik national, who had been put on the international wanted list on suspicion of participating in a terrorist organization.

"We have identified and detained a 24-year-old man who has arrived in Ukraine by air from Turkey. The man was detained when undergoing passport control procedures [...] According to Interpol's database, this individual is internationally wanted to be arrested as a member of a terrorist group and with a view to his further extradition to Tajikistan for prosecution," the Ukrainian state border agency's press service said.

The detainee was handed over to Ukrainian National Guard officers after procedural actions were completed, it added.
