Russian sports minister changes procedures for filing appeals against RUSADA decisions, addressing them directly to CAS
MOSCOW. Aug 15 (Interfax) - Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko has approved changes to the Russian anti-doping regulations dealing with appeals against decisions made by the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA), the agency press service said.
The changes will affect two chapters of the regulations and are associated with the fact that athletes and their representatives are now required to file appeals against RUSADA decisions directly with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne.
Additionally, changes have been made to the procedures governing the work of the Disciplinary Anti-Doping Committee.
RUSADA is now in the process of reinstatement following its suspension by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in November 2015 due to failure to comply with the WADA code. The reform is taking place under the control of foreign specialists. The agency is now hiring specialists to work as doping control inspectors as a one-time job or part-time.
