DPR reports nearly 800 ceasefire breaches by Ukrainian military over past 24 hours

DONETSK. Aug 15 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian military have breached the ceasefire nearly 800 times over the past 24 hours, top military officials in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) said.

"The Ukrainian side has violated the ceasefire regime 782 times over the past 24 hours. The adversary continues to use artillery, having fired a total of 118 artillery shells of 122mm and 152mm calibers, 594 mines, of which 274 were 120mm in caliber. Besides, infantry fighting vehicle weapons, grenade launchers and small arms have been fired," senior officer with the DPR Defense Ministry Eduard Basurin told a briefing on Monday.

Ten buildings have been damaged in the shell attack on the populated localities of Kominternove, Dzerzhinske, and the Petrovskyi district of Donetsk, he said.

"An observation post of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination [JCCC], whose representatives had to spend the night in a bomb shelter with local residents, came under fire as a target also in the Petrovskyi district of Donetsk," Basurin said.

DPR reconnaissance continues to detect the movement of Ukrainian Armed Forces hardware banned by the Minsk agreements near the contact line, he also said.

"The presence of four Grad multiple rocket launchers has been detected in Dzerzhinske [five kilometers away from the contact line]. The arrival of two trains loaded with military hardware, including tanks, self-propelled artillery guns and infantry fighting vehicles has been detected in Konstantinovka [25 kilometers away from the contact line]," Basurin also said.
