Attacked LPR head Plotnitsky may go back to work next week - source
MOSCOW. Aug 16 (Interfax) - Self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) head Igor Plotnitsky, who suffered injuries in an attempt on his life, feels better and may go back to work next week, a source from the Plotnitsky entourage told Interfax on Tuesday.
"The head of republic is undergoing a course of rehabilitation treatment. His health is improving. Dynamics are obviously positive. If it persists, the treatment will last until the end of this week and he may fully go back to work next week," he said.
The attempt on Plotnitsky's life was made in the morning of August 6 and he was taken to hospital. A bomb exploded near his car. Local authorities said it was a terror attack.
Plotnitsky made an audio address in a later period. "I am asking everyone to stay calm. Nothing serious has happened. Yet anyone who claims that I am disabled is a traitor and an enemy of the LPR. I will be back to work soon," he said.
A source told Interfax on August 7 that the LPR chief had been discharged from the Luhansk hospital.
