Number of populated localities engaged in Syria truce rises to 457 - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Aug 25 (Interfax) - As many as 457 populated localities have joined the reconciliation regime in Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"Reconciliation agreements have been signed with representatives of eight populated localities in the provinces of Latakia (four), Hama (two) and Damascus (two) over the past day. The number of populated localities engaged in the reconciliation process has risen to 457," the Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides said in a bulletin.

Negotiations on joining the cessation of hostilities regime continued with the field commanders of armed opposition units in the provinces of As-Suwayda, Al-Quneitra and Damascus, the bulletin said.
