Number of eligible voters in Belarus declines after 2012 - Central Elections Commission

MINSK. Aug 27 (Interfax) - The Belarusian Central Elections Commission has published information on the number of eligible voters in the upcoming elections to the Chamber of Representatives of the Belarusian National Assembly.

The voter lists include a total of 6,990,696 voters.

The largest number of eligible voters is in Minsk (1,294,414) and the lowest in the Grodno region (777,985).

The voter lists also include 4,405 Belarusian citizens eligible to vote outside the country.

The voter lists in the previous parliamentary elections in Belarus in 2012 included 7,078,809 people.

Parliamentary elections in Belarus are scheduled for September 11.
