Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Finance, Central Bank of Russia to be tested for readiness to work under conditions of war - Defense Ministry
MOSCOW. Aug 29 (Interfax) - Subdivisions of Russia's Ministry of Communications and Mass Media, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Federal Agency for State Reserve and the Central Bank will take part in war games as part of the Russian Armed Forces' surprise inspection, the Ministry of Defense said on Monday.
"The territorial government agencies will exercise coordination and control over the switching of their activities over to operation under conditions of war, mobilization deployment and measures of territorial defense in the area of responsibility," the ministry's press service said in a release.
Certain mobilization activities involving a recall, including those in the reserve, as well as supplies of motor vehicles and formation of military units of territorial defense are performed as part of the surprise inspection held in the South and Central Military Districts, and Russia's North Fleet, it said.
"Reserve training exercises are being held involving those recalled from the reserve for the obligated reservists to take a course of intense general military training, as well as special trainings according to their military specialties and unit organizational trainings," it said.
It is for the first time that delivery of financial services to the armed forces in isolation from their permanent bases are being tested as part of the surprise inspection with participation of field agencies of the Central Bank of Russia, it said.
"It is also planned to check readiness of a number of defense sector facilities in southern Russia to accomplish the assigned mobilization tasks in terms of shipments and repairs of weaponry, as well as military and special equipment for the benefits of the specially created task forces," the ministry said.
