Gazprom confirming forecast for gas exports to Europe at more than 165 bcm, average price unchanged
MOSCOW. Sept 1 (Interfax) - Gazprom thinks that it will manage to exceed the announced export forecast for 2016 of 165 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas, Gazprom Export deputy department director Mikhail Malgin.
"The export forecast is unchanged. From the point of view of volumes, for the year there is every reason to expect that the amount will exceed the 165 bcm that was announced earlier, but the weather will finally determine this," he said.
He said that the forecast for the export price for 2016 was unchanged and amounts $167-$171 per thousand cubic meters.
Commenting on trends on the European gas market, Malgin said that, while several new LNG terminals have been launched - in Poland, Lithuania and France, they are not operating at high capacity because gas is going to more profitable markets in Asia and Latin America.
