CSTO representatives discuss anti-terrorist, peacekeeping work in UN
MOSCOW. Sept 1 (Interfax-AVN) - Representatives from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) nations held consultations over the agenda of the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UN GA) in Moscow on Thursday.
"Participants of the consultations acknowledged the significance and necessity of close cooperation between the CSTO member states within the UN," CSTO spokesman Vladimir Zainetdinov told reporters on Thursday.
The discussion centered around issues such as practical cooperation among the CSTO member states, their priorities during the 71st UN GA session, the situation in Afghanistan, UN anti-terrorist and peacekeeping efforts.
The UN GA will open in New York on September 13.
The CSTO members are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
