Eight violations of truce observed in Syria in past 24 hours - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Sept 2 (Interfax-AVN) - The cessation of hostilities regime was breached eight times in Syria in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"Eight violations have been observed, including five in the Damascus province and three in Latakia. Formations from the Jaysh al-Islam group identifying itself as opposition fired mortars on the populated localities of Arbil, Duma, Harasta, Jaubar and Haush-Dara in the Damascus province. Drones carrying explosive devices were used in attacks of armed units from the Ahrar ash-Sham group on the populated localities of Ara, Bruma and Tubal in the Latakia province," a bulletin published on the ministry's website on Thursday said.

The Russian Aerospace Forces and the Syrian Air Force did not strike opposition paramilitary units which had declared adherence to the cessation of hostilities and informed either the Russian or U.S. reconciliation center about their location, the report said.
