Nobody among crewmembers, passengers injured in Mi-8 helicopter's hard landing in Sakhalin - Russian Defense Ministry
MOSCOW. Sept 3 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry has confirmed reports about a hard landing of the Russian Mil Mi-8 helicopter in Sakhalin.
"A Mi-8 helicopter had a hard landing on the Sokol airfield, the Sakhalin region, at 1:18 p.m. on September 3, Moscow time, while performing a planned flight. The helicopter crewmembers and passengers have suffered no injuries," the ministry's information and mass communications department told Interfax.
"The aviation incident took place during the hours of darkness and in adverse meteorological conditions," it said.
A commission from the Eastern Military District has started to work at the scene of the aviation incident.
