Aleppo has 7 corridors for aid delivery, one for militants to exit - Antonov

MOSCOW. Sept 5 (Interfax) - Eight special corridors are currently open in the Syrian city of Aleppo where the Russian military, supported by the Syrian authorities, are conducting a humanitarian operation, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov said.

"Each day water, food and essentials are delivered to local residents through seven special corridors," he told reporters on Monday.

"The eighth one is open near Castello Road for armed militants to leave the city," Antonov said.

The Russian military have been conducting the humanitarian operation in Aleppo for a month now, he said.

"The question of providing humanitarian aid to all Aleppo residents, despite the ongoing talks between all parties concerned, has not lost its relevance," Antonov said.
