Gazprom receives first permits from Turkey for TurkStream

MOSCOW. Sept 7 (Interfax) - Gazprom has received through diplomatic channels the first permits from the Turkish executive authorities to implement the TurkStream gas pipeline project following the decision to revive the project this year, Gazprom said in a press release.

"The start to issuance of permits is positive news for Gazprom. This step by the Turkish side reflects the Turkish government's interest in the TurkStream project and signals the transition to its practical implementation," Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller is quoted in the statement as saying.

Miller reached agreement with Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Berat Albayrak in talks last week to complete procedures on issuing permits for TurkStream implementation in the shortest timeframe.
