Georgia's defense capability strengthening to be priority in cooperation with NATO - PM Kvirikashvili
TBILISI. Sept 7 (Interfax) - Georgia changes priority in cooperation with NATO, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili said.
Strengthening of Georgia's defense capability will be one of the main priorities in cooperation with NATO, he said at a press conference on Wednesday, commenting on the results of the NATO-Georgia commission meeting, which took place in Tbilisi on Wednesday.
"While previously a larger emphasis in cooperation with NATO was placed on the participation of the Georgian troops in the international peacekeeping missions and their training, more attention now will be paid to strengthening of Georgia's defense capability," he said.
Separate NATO member countries provide assistance to Georgia in strengthening of its defense capability in a bilateral format, he said.
"The inclusion of Georgia in the dialogue with NATO on security of the Black Sea is also important for us," he said.
The North Atlantic Council delegation headed by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg arrived in Georgia for a two-day visit on Wednesday.
