Militiaman killed, another one injured in Donbas in past week - DPR Defense Ministry

DONETSK. Sept 9 (Interfax) - The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) reports a daily increase in a number of ceasefire violations.

A DPR serviceman was killed and another one heavily injured while dealing with an attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the past week, the DPR operations commander Denis Sinenkov said at a briefing.

"Despite yet another ceasefire, which was put in place since September 1, 2016, the increase in a number of ceasefire violations conducted by the Ukrainian military is recorded daily. The enemy violated the ceasefire regime 526 times overall in the past week. And they fired the weapons proscribed by the Minsk Agreements at the territory of the DPR 264 times," he said.

Three buildings, including an apartment block, were damaged in the shellings conducted by the Ukrainian troops, Sinenkov said.

"Please be aware that by means of targeted shellings of the DPR's populated localities and the positions of militia the enemy tried to provoke an escalation of the conflict and return it to the level before the ceasefire was announced [...]," he said.
