Putin to meet with Kyrgyz president during Bishkek visit to attend CIS summit - Ushakov

MOSCOW. Sept 15 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting with Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev on Saturday after attending a CIS summit in Bishkek on Friday, Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov told journalists on Thursday.

"Regarding the Kyrgyz part of our president's visit, stay: this will be September 17. Everything will begin in the morning from our president's meeting with Atambayev," he said, while stressing that the "specifics" of the meeting will be the Kyrgyz leader's 60th birthday anniversary.

After the presidents' meeting Putin, along with the other countries' leaders, will attend a wreath-laying ceremony at a memorial to the tens of thousands of people who were killed during tragic events of 100 years ago, the Turkestan rebellion.

Also, a joint wreath-laying is scheduled at a World War II memorial.

A festive event to mark Atambayev's 60th birthday will be held later.

"Also, after laying wreaths at the monument to participants of the Great Patriotic War, the presidents might also tour a nearby recently-built health and fitness center. The center was built by Gazprom under the Gazprom for Children program," Ushakov said.

Asked whether Putin is scheduled to hold meetings with other CIS leaders, in particular, the presidents of Belarus and Kazakhstan, Alexander Lukashenko and Nursultan Nazarbayev, respectively, the presidential aide said that no formal arrangements have been made but the leaders could speak informally during Atambayev's Friday evening reception and subsequent informal communication.
