Russian goods, services to get priority in state procurements as of 2017

MOSCOW. Sept 16 (Interfax) - Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed a resolution giving Russian goods and services priority over foreign ones in government procurements, the government website reported.

"The signed resolution establishes the priority of goods of Russian origin, and work and services carried out and provided by Russian entities in purchases of goods, work and services through tenders, auctions and other means of purchase, over goods originating in foreign nations, and work and services carried out and provided by foreign entities," the website said.

The resolution, which goes into effect as of January 1, 2017, sets out the procedures and conditions for granting priority.

This decision is intended to stimulate the development of all sectors of the Russian economy, the government said.
