CIS leaders plan to sign three-year program of countering int'l terrorism - Kyrgyz Foreign Minister
BISHKEK. Sept 16 (Interfax) - Fourteen documents are being submitted for the consideration of CIS leaders, including documents on resisting international terrorism, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Erland Abduldayev told the press on Friday.
"Fourteen documents are being submitted to CIS heads of state for signing, including a statement of the heads of CIS member-states on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Commonwealth, on further joint efforts to counter international terrorism, and a relevant program for 2017-2019, a protocol on the implementation of the agreement on the protection of parties to criminal justice on matters of compensation of expenses related to security measures," he said.
On Friday, Bishkek is hosting the 25h jubilee summit of the CIS. The Council of CIS Foreign Ministers discussed the interaction of the Foreign Ministries of member-states in the framework of the CIS and also draft documents submitted to the heads of state for approval.
The meeting was attended by the foreign ministers of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Moldova and deputy foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. Ukraine was represented by the Ukrainian ambassador to Bishkek.
