Yavlinsky intends to run for Russian presidency

MOSCOW. Sept 19 (Interfax) - Grigory Yavlinsky, the head of the federal political committee of the Yabloko party, intends to run for the Russian presidency in 2018 and results of the State Duma election will influence this.

"We were ready for such results. We made a decision and are ready to run in the election, We think that our party will take the most active part in what will be called the presidential election," Yavlinsky told journalists in the early hours of Monday.

He noted that as of now he is a candidate from the Yabloko party. "This is responsibility now to be a candidate. If the party selects someone else, then you will see. But as of today the position has not changed," Yavlinsky said.
