Over 260,000 election monitors were present at polling stations - Pamfilova

MOSCOW. Sept 19 (Interfax) - On average five representatives of political parties and the public monitored the voting at polling stations in Russia, Russian Central Elections Commission Chairwoman Ella Pamfilova said on Monday.

"Specifically, according to tentative information, 264,000 of the stated 310,000 monitors were really present at polling stations," she told a press conference in the Central Elections Commission.

Additionally, Pamfilova said, citing incomplete information, that some 151,000 members of elections commissions without the right to vote and some 10,000 members of the press were present at polling stations.

"That is, on average five representatives of political parties and candidates who monitored the lawfulness of the voting and the ballot count procedures were present at one polling station," she said.
