There was no ceasefire at all during past week - Syrian opposition's High Negotiation Committee

MOSCOW. Sept 19 (Interfax) - The week-long ceasefire regime declared by Russia and the United States in Syria was not observed since the first day, the Syrian opposition High Negotiation Committee said.

"The number of ceasefire violations on the part of the Syrian government and Russia confirms that ceasefire was not observed since the first day," the High Negotiation Committee spokesman Riyadh Nassan Agha told Interfax in a telephone conversation.

At that, he said, responsibility for the ceasefire regime violations lies with Moscow among others.

"Neither Damascus, nor Russian Aerospace Forces ceased air strikes and it shows that ceasefire was entirely out of the question," he said.

Lieut. Gen. Sergei Rudskoi, the head of the Main Operative Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff, said earlier on Monday that the Russian and Syrian aviation did not conduct strikes at the areas agreed on in the Geneva agreements in the past week.
