Armenian president appoints new ministers
YEREVAN. Sept 20 (Interfax) - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan signed decrees on Tuesday appointing new ministers.
Ashot Manukyan was appointed Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Ignati Arakelyan Minister of Agriculture, Vahan Martirosyan Minister of Transport and Communication, and Davit Harutyunyan Minister-Chief of Government Staff, the Armenian presidential press service said.
Apart from that, Sargsyan issued a decree dismissing Vardan Aramyan from the post of first deputy chief of the presidential administration and appointing him Minister of Finance.
Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Vache Gabrielyan was reappointed Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms.
Sargsyan relieved Alexan Harutyunyan of the duties of Armenia's Ambassador to Argentina, Uruguay, Peru and Chile and appointed him deputy head of the presidential administration.
On September 9, Sargsyan accepted the resignation of the Armenian government and Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan.
On September 13, Sargsyan issued a decree appointing Karen Karapetyan, former mayor of Yerevan, the Armenian capital, former head of ArmRosGazprom (now Gazprom Armenia), and Deputy General Director for Strategic and Corporate Development at Gazprom Mezhregiongas the country's prime minister.
