OSCE SMM believes Ukrainian conflicting sides can honor truce
KYIV. Sept 23 (Interfax) - The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission expects the Donbas conflicting sides to stick to the ceasefire agreement.
The sides can cease the hostilities and their command-and-control mechanisms are sufficient for enforcing discipline, OSCE SMM Principal Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Friday.
The Ukrainian army and the militia can withdraw forces and hardware from the contact line in the areas prescribed by the Contact Group, he said.
At present, the OSCE SMM employs 707 monitors, including 583 stationed in the hostility zone, Hug said.
