There are still ceasefire breaches in Donetsk region, situation in Luhansk region calm - OSCE SMM

LUHANSK. Sept 26 (Interfax) - The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) observers continue to record ceasefire regime violations in the Donetsk region, OSCE SMM Principal Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug said.

The OSCE SMM recorded the ceasefire regime violations until now. The most of them occurred in the area of Yasynuvata, Donetsk airport, Avdiivka and the northern part of Horlivka, Hug told reporters on Monday.

He noted that the situation in the Luhansk region was quite calm in the past several days.

He also said that the civilians live in the areas, where hostilities take place, and they still suffer, despite the situation being calm, because the infrastructure, such as water, gas and power supply, is damaged. The issue of crossing the contact line also increases, Hug said.

He said that the separation of the conflict sides in Donbas in the area of the town of Zolote, the Luhansk region, will allow opening of an additional checkpoint on the contact line.

Crossing the contact line is currently only possible via a partially repaired bridge in Stanitsa Luhanska. [...] There is an area of separation of the forces near the bridge, thus the sides have the opportunity to work for the civilians on both sides of the contact line, Hug said.
