Number of Ukrainian army attacks on DPR down 3 times - Defense Ministry

DONETSK. Sept 27 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian army conducted 46 attacks on the territory of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) in the past 24 hours yet a stabilization trend persists, Eduard Basurin, a senior officer of the DPR Defense Ministry, said.

"The number of attacks by the Ukrainian army reduced three times to 46 over the past day. The hostiles fired 19 mines from banned 120mm and 82mm weapons on populated localities," Basurin said at a press briefing on Tuesday.

Mortars were fired from positions of a separate Ukrainian mechanized infantry brigade near Starohnativka, he said.

"In addition, the hostiles fired grenade launchers and small arms on the populated localities of Zaitseve, Yasynuvata, Oleksandrivka, Dokuchayevsk, Novolaspa, the Petrovskyi district of Donetsk and the Mayorsk checkpoint," Basurin said.

Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman Andriy Lysenko said at a press briefing earlier that three Ukrainian soldiers suffered injuries in the army operation zone in Donbas.
