Belarus reduces potash fertilizer exports 21.4% in Jan-July

MINSK. Sept 27 (Interfax) - Belarus reduced potash fertilizer exports 21.4% in January-July 2016 to 2.784 tonnes (in terms of 100% active ingredients), national statistics committee Belstat said in materials.

Almost all was exported outside the CIS: 2.720 million tonnes, 22.2% less year-on-year. Exports to CIS countries totaled 64,400 tonnes, 39.1% more.

The average contract price of the potash fertilizer exports was $380 per tonne, 22.3% higher than a year earlier.

Belarus also exported 151,300 tonnes of nitrogen fertilizer in 7M (22.8% less), including 132,900 tonnes outside the CIS (25.5% less) and 18,400 tonnes to the CIS (4.4% more).

The average contract price for nitrogen fertilizer in January-July was $459 per tonne, 25.3% less.

Nitrogen fertilizer is produce in Belarus at Grodno Azot, which specializes in producing technical ammonia, nitrogen fertilizers (urea, UAN, ammonia sulfate), technical methanol, caprolactam, biodiesel and liquid carbon dioxide.

Belaruskali is the sole producer of potash in Belarus and a major supplier of potash fertilizer to the global market. It sells product through Belarusian Potash Company (BPC).
