Two Rostransnadzor officials detained in Moscow on suspicion of corruptive practices - source
MOSCOW. Sept 28 (Interfax) - Two officials from a department of the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Transport (Rostransnadzor) have been detained in Moscow on suspicion of taking bribes, a police source told Interfax.
"The officials suspected of taking bribes were under surveillance of operative units of the Federal Security Service and the Interior Ministry for several months," he said.
The suspects took money from transport companies providing passenger transportation via minibus, he said.
The source identified the detainees as Rostransnadzor Moscow city department head Igor Surzhik and Rostransnadzor southern department head Igor Vysotsky.
The detainees are being questioned, and their procedural status is being determined.
Interfax has yet to obtain official confirmation of this information from law enforcement authorities.
