Russia set for constructive UN SC work over further sanctions against DPRK - Russian Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW. Sept 29 (Interfax) - Moscow is ready for constructive work in the United Nations Security Council over new sanctions with respect to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.
"We talked about these actions requiring international reaction, so we are set constructively for cooperation within the UN Security Council," she said when asked about Russia's attitude towards new sanctions against the DPRK over its continued ballistic missile tests.
"All issues relating to a possible introduction of additional sanctions with respect to the DPRK are the UN SC competence. Preliminary discussions there are underway," Zakharova said.
The UN SC measures "must be commensurate and attain the set goal," she said.
