DPR forces ready to redeploy in Petrivske village

PETRIVSKE. Oct 3 (Interfax) - The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has put its forces, removed from the village of Petrivske, into a state of readiness to redeploy to their previous positions, the DPR defense ministry told Interfax.

"In view of Ukraine's failure to remove its troops, a readiness has been announced among our units to return to their previous positions in the village of Petrivske," a source said.

For their part, the removed DPR forces have expressed their readiness to return to the previous positions "even with a fight."

"In view of the shelling started by Ukraine, we are even ready to return to the previous positions with a fight," one DPR officer told Interfax.

Sounds of automatic gunfire were audible near Petrivske from where the Ukrainian troops are based, an Interfax correspondent reported. .

"The Ukrainian military have still not left their positions near the village. Instead they fired automatic grenade launchers in the direction of the village of Viktorivka," the DPR defense ministry told Interfax.

Earlier on Monday the DPR removed its people and equipment from Petrivske. In total, 20 personnel and two infantry fighting vehicles have been removed from the village.
