Crimea exports 220,000 tonnes of grain in 2016 - Rosselkhoznadzor
SIMFEROPOL. Oct 4 (Interfax) - Crimea exported 220,000 tonnes of grain, despite the West's sanctions regime, which is almost 15% of the new grain harvest, acting head of the Crimean division of Rosselkhoznadzor Andrei Drygin told journalists on Tuesday.
"Not an insignificant part of the grain crop is being exported, this year Rosselkhoznadzor inspectors finalized 220,000 tonnes of grain. I deliberately will not name the direction of exports, in light of our political situation," Drygin said.
At the same time, he said that Crimean grain is being supplied to countries of Africa and the Middle East.
It was reported that this year Crimean farmers harvested 1.45 million tonnes of grain.
