Six armed group members eliminated in Ingushetia - source
ROSTOV-ON-DON. Oct 7 (Interfax) - Six militants were neutralized during a counter-terrorism operation in Nazran and the village of Gazi-Yurt in Ingushetia, in Russia's North Caucasus, a source in the region's security services told Interfax.
"The preliminary information available indicates that six members of armed groups were eliminated in two populated localities - the village of Gazi-Yurt and Nazran. Two of the eliminated [militants] have already been identified," he said.
The militants neutralized in Nazran included a woman, who was apparently carrying an improvised explosive device and was killed when it accidentally detonated, the source said.
Persons known as Abdul-Mazhid Aushev and Zulfiya Kostoyeva, who moved to the village of Gazi-Yurt just several days ago after buying a house there, were eliminated in Gazi-Yurt, he said. Their possible involvement in terrorist activity in Ingushetia is being investigated.
