Georgian Dream ruling party leading in parallel vote count by Georgian NGO
TBILISI. Oct 9 (Interfax) - The Georgian non-governmental organization (NGO) Fair Elections on Sunday presented data detailing its own parallel count of the ballots cast by voters in the country's parliamentary elections on October 8.
These data, which were received by the organization directly from all of the country's polling stations with the consent of the Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC), show that the Georgian Dream ruling party is leading in the elections held based on party lists with between 48.2% and 50% of the vote. It is followed by the United National Movement with between 25.9% and 27.7% of the vote.
The Alliance of Patriots of Georgia may also pass the required 5% electoral threshold as the parallel vote count gives it from 4.6% to 5.2% of the vote.
The NGO also said that its vote count data could slightly differ from the official election results.
