Russian Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier escorted by other warships to head for Mediterranean - source
SEVEROMORSK. Oct 15 (Interfax) - The Admiral Kuznetsov, a Russian Northern Fleet heavy aircraft carrier, is expected to depart on Saturday for a long-distance cruise to the Mediterranean under escort of other warships, a knowledgeable source told Interfax.
"A naval aircraft carrying group led by the Admiral Kuznetsov cruiser is leaving for a long-distance cruise," he said.
The Admiral Kuznetsov is supposed to join the Russian Navy's permanent operational unit in the Mediterranean. Interfax had reported earlier that the only Russian aircraft carrier's long-distance cruise would last four to five months.
