MOSCOW. Oct 18 (Interfax) - Russia and Paraguay have signed a memorandum of cooperation on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy after talks between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Paraguayan Foreign Minister Eladio Loizaga.
"In accordance with this document, cooperation will develop in the field of uses of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and talks will begin over prospective areas such as development of nuclear medicine, joint isotope production, construction of relevant facilities for storing agricultural products," Lavrov told a press conference on Tuesday after talks with his Paraguayan counterpart.
The agreement was signed by Rosatom and Paraguay's National Service for Regulation of Radiological and Nuclear Activities.
