Yerevan assumes destructive position in Karabakh talks - Azerbaijani foreign minister
BAKU. Oct 18 (Interfax) - Armenia is ignoring the international community's position regarding a peaceful settlement of the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said.
"Fully ignoring the international community's position and grossly violating international law, Armenia is continuing to assume a destructive position in the negotiating process on settling the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's press service quoted Mammadyarov as saying at the 43rd Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Tashkent.
The minister thanked the OIC secretary general and member-states for demonstrating their principled stance of denouncing Armenia's policy toward Azerbaijan.
"We highly value the establishment of the OIC Contact Group dealing with Armenia's aggression toward Azerbaijan. We believe that this group's activity will promote the relevant OIC and UN resolutions and will help consolidate joint efforts toward this," Mammadyarov said.
