Peskov: Putin to hold series of working meetings in preparation for 'Normandy format' negotiations in Berlin on Oct 19
MOSCOW. Oct 18 (Interfax) - Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin will participate in a meeting of the 'Normandy Four' leaders in Berlin on October 19 and hold a series of working meetings prior to it.
"Vladimir Putin will hold a series of working meetings, including in the context of preparations for the meeting, which is taking shape after all, in the 'Normandy format' in Berlin tomorrow," Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.
He said that Putin will go to Berlin on Wednesday, October 19. "This will be not even a one-day visit, but an evening working visit, during which he will hold negotiations with [German Chancellor Angela] Merkel, [French President Francois] Hollande and [Ukrainian President Petro] Poroshenko," Peskov said.
"The work at the level of aides late last night and early morning today allowed advancing to this meeting of heads of state," Peskov said.
