U.S. State Dept hopes for further improvement of relations with Belarus

MINSK. Oct 18 (Interfax) - The United States Department of State sees many important aspects in its relationship with Belarus, the main of them being human rights and democracy, the BelTA state news agency reported, citing U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Bridget Brink.

At a briefing in Minsk on Tuesday, Brink said that she hopes the improvement of the relations that took place in the past 13-14 months would continue. The bilateral relationship has many aspects that appear very important to the U.S., and Washington will always see human rights and democracy as the most important of them, she said.
