'Normandy Four' discusses ICRC access to Donbas - Merkel

BERLIN. Oct 20 (Interfax) - The possibility of providing the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) with access to Donbas was discussed at the 'Normandy format' meeting in Berlin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said.

"We also discussed humanitarian measures, which are highly important, because people who live in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions are experiencing great suffering. What was discussed is that the International Red Cross should be given unhindered access to these regions in order to create passages for pedestrians into the regions taken by insurgents," she said at a press conference after the 'Normandy Four' talks.
