What happened in Aleppo on Oct 18 is not the first bombing of civilians by coalition - Russian Defense Ministry
MOSCOW. Oct 20 (Interfax-AVN) - This is not the first time when the American coalition bombs the civilian population of Syria and denies responsibility, Russian Defense Ministry official Igor Konashenkov said.
"I want to emphasize that it is not the first situation when the countries of the international coalition deliver strikes against civilians and fully deny their responsibility," Konashenkov said, referring to the strike in the Aleppo province on October 18, which was delivered by F-16 planes of the Belgian Air Force.
"Weddings, funeral processions, hospitals, police stations, humanitarian convoys, and even Syrian troops fighting ISIL [group is banned in Russia] terrorists near Deir ez-Zor get caught in fire by the planes of the countries of the coalition," the general said.
The general said the Russian military are following the development of the situation with the bombing of the populated area of Hasajek in the Aleppo province by the international coalition on October 18.
"The joint communique of the defense minister of Belgium and the foreign minister of this country saying that the Russian statements on the presence in this area of planes of the Belgian Air Force are allegedly ungrounded and have no content was especially surprising," Konashenkov said.
"Moreover, such-like statements were made by an official representative of the central command of the U.S. armed forces," Konashenkov said.
