Tibilov, Nurgaliyev discuss South Ossetia security in Tskhinval
TSKHINVAL. Oct 25 (Interfax) - South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov and Russian Security Council Deputy Secretary Rashid Nurgaliyev, paying a working visit to Tskhinval, discussed South Ossetia's security and bilateral cooperation with Russia.
Nurgaliyev is accompanied by a Russian interdepartmental working group representing the Prosecutor General's Office, the Interior Ministry, the Investigative Committee and the Federal Security Service. "The purpose of our visit and activity is to determine key areas and to hold bilateral interdepartmental working consultations, first of all, the exchange of practices between law enforcement agencies of our states, the security authorities of South Ossetia, on matters of general crime and the fight against organized crime and corruption," Nurgaliyev said.
The meeting is a part of the cooperation plan between the Russian Security Council and South Ossetia for 2015-2016, he said. "First and foremost, we should establish constructive and fruitful contacts and agree on a set of issues and problems to be resolved jointly. After the colleagues confer on working issues, the president and I will hold an expanded conference and will analyze results of the activity of our colleagues," Nurgaliyev said.
Tibilov said at a meeting with the delegation it would be necessary "to use to the maximum the huge material and financial assistance given to the republic. This should be done in the field of the budget and the investment program in order to avert any negative developments." "We are working on the full or maximal adjustment of the activity of governmental agencies to the principles in effect in the Russian Federation," he said.
In addition, Tibilov and Nurgaliyev examined construction of a highland border road, Sinagur-Karzman, on Tuesday. The road project is a part of the investment program; it is strategic to the republic.
Minister for the North Caucasus Lev Kuznetsov will also start a working visit to South Ossetia on Tuesday.
