KTK ups 2016 growth forecast for coal production to 6.9%
KEMEROVO. Oct 28 (Interfax) - Kuzbasskaya Toplivnaya Company (KTK) plans to mine 3.2 million tonnes of coal in the fourth quarter of 2016, the Russian company said.
KTK produced 8.56 million tonnes in the first nine months of 2016. The company therefore plans to mine 11.76 million tonnes of coal this year overall, 6.9% more than the 11 million tonnes it produced in 2015. KTK previously said it expected to produce 11.1 million tonnes of coal in 2016.
KTK told Interfax that production in 2016 will increase thanks to higher than expected production in the second and third quarters.
