Rotenberg: Kerch bridge work worth 30 bln rubles completed
MOSCOW. Nov 1 (Interfax) - Work on the Kerch bridge totaling 30 billion rubles has been completed, Arkady Rotenberg said in an interview on Rossiya 24 television.
The cost of the bridge's construction will not be revised, he said. "In the first place, we can no longer revise the cost of the bridge, but we aren't planning to in principle. We have passed through the state expertise, set the price and today are working in accordance with that figure. The bridge will cost 227.992 billion rubles. We have already completed work worth 30 billion rubles," he said.
The most labor intensive element - the bridge's central span - is planned to be installed "somewhere around the middle of 2017," he said.
A total of 595 supports will be installed, of which one-third are scheduled to be supplied before year-end. Installation of about one-third of 7,000 pilings will also be completed before the end of the year.
The construction project employs about 3,500 people, he said.
